New Orleans’ BRAT has today shared a behind the scenes video for their latest single and recently released accompanying music video Social Grace. The behind the scenes clip, shot and edited by Jon Darsey, offers an in-depth glimpse into death grind/hardcore group’s creative process ahead of their upcoming West Coast tour dates this month, alongside labelmates ACxDC – full dates below.

Speaking on the behind the scenes video, BRAT‘s Dustin Eagan (drums) comments: “It was a very rewarding experience to see something you plan so meticulously come to life in real time. From the seed of an idea to the final product, it gives you a greater appreciation for what really goes into 3 minutes of film. We did the whole thing DIY with the help of our friends so there was a very warm creative atmosphere while we were shooting which helped everything run really smoothly. John and Dane did an amazing job of story boarding, planning the shots, and adapting to creative ideas we had on the fly.”
BRAT‘s self described yassified look shirks more traditional metal imagery in favor of a pink-pilled Y2K aesthetic, with plenty of nods to their favorite femme pop icons. As the band sets their sights on making strides in the heavy metal and hardcore world, BRAT‘s end goal is to “put bimboviolence and barbiegrind on the map”. Through a consistent live presence that includes touring alongside NOLA legends EYEHATEGOD, Ringworm, fellow grindsters in No/Mas and contemporaries in Maul and Morbid Visions, BRAT has garnered praise from the likes of Revolver, Metal Injection, Metal Sucks and many more as a new band to watch.
