Today, after making quite some noise in the metalcore scene, PRIDIAN is unleashing their debut album, ‘Venetian Dark.’ Released via Century Media Records, the record is the band’s first full-length album following their ‘Cybergnosis’ EP, released back in 2023.

Bouncy, groovy, and textured throughout, the album’s sound evolves across its twelve tracks, while the lyrics often offer a nihilistic point of view, dealing with heavy topics such as struggles with mental health, trauma, and personal growth. Their love for dark soundscapes is evident in the overall sound of ‘Venetian Dark,’ offering a versatile and intriguing debut album that highlights many of the band’s wide-ranging influences and their unique technicality.

In addition to ‘Venetian Dark’ releasing today, the focus track “Convoy” is out now accompanied by a music video, available to watch below. PRIDIAN delivers a commanding performance that highlights why they’re one of the most compelling acts emerging from Estonia’s often-overlooked metal scene.

Vocalist Laur Lindmäe shares the inspiration for “Convoy”:

“Everything felt like it was closing in. I’ve been running for so long, but now it feels like the weight of my choices is catching up to me—the things I gave away, the time I lost, chasing something that always stayed just out of reach. I keep wondering if any of it was worth it. The plans I made, the life I wanted—was I building something better, or just digging my own grave? The war outside mirrors the war within, and neither offers a way out.”

Vocalist Laur Lindmäe shares about the inspiration for ‘Venetian Dark’

“Looking at it on a larger scale, I believe that humanity has lost its connection with nature, the planet, and even itself. We relentlessly exploit every last resource, driven by profit and greed. Our ideologies have grown superficial, and we are becoming less and less empathetic. Even if we end up destroying the Earth, we seem to have this cockroach-like ability to survive. We’ll likely figure out how to launch ourselves into space, discover another planet to inhabit, and start the cycle all over again.”

About PRIDIAN

Founded 2018 in Tartu, Estonia, metalcore quartet PRIDIAN channels the intensity of their experiences and emotions into a distinctive sound defined by dark, heavy grooves, commanding vocals, and cinematic melodies enhanced with electronic elements. Their first album, ‘The Rotten Unknown’ (released in 2021 under the name ÆØNS), earned a nomination for “Metal Album of the Year” at the Estonian Music Awards. Building on this success, PRIDIAN released the EP ‘Cybergnosis’ in 2023, and signed with label Century Media Records in September 2024.

Their performance at Euroblast Festival 2024 got them enough momentum to build an international fanbase. In fact, PRIDIAN couldn’t have asked for a better occasion, playing their German debut, than on an internationally visited progressive metal-centered festival known for being a breakthrough platform of bands like Sleep TokenUnprocessedJinjer, and many more. The band also managed to secure themselves a spot for the famous Mystic Festival in Poland for their 2025 edition through a jury-led band battle in Estonia.

Now, with the release of ‘Venetian Dark’ as their first full length record as PRIDIAN, the quartet proves their place in the international metalcore scene while also showing what Estonia’s growing metal scene truly has to offer.

PRIDIAN are:

Laur Lindmäe – vocals
Jörg-Erik Hanikat – guitar
Martin Randalu – guitar
Robert Leht – drums
