Today, Iron Bonehead Productions announces September 26th as the international release date for a brand-new EP from Tetragrammacide, Cyber-Tantric Paradigm of Radical Sri-Vidya, on CD and 12″ vinyl formats.
Hailing from the ever-thriving and always-interesting Indian metal underground, Tetragrammacide have proven to transcend even such already-superlative boundaries. Since their formation in 2012, the hydra-headed entity has created one of the most genuinely threatening and overwhelmingly violent sounds of modern times, and then they flip the script by becoming clearer and more focused and somehow even more feral. Allied with Iron Bonehead since 2015, Tetragrammacide‘s Typhonian Wormholes: Indecipherable Anti-Structural Formulæ mini-album was a modern classic of blown-out barbarism and in-the-red frequencies, betraying the fact that an accomplished black / death band were simply waiting for an opportune time to reveal a clearer portrait of their sonic holocaust. That then arrived with 2017’s Primal Incinerators of Moral Matrix debut album: an impossibly accomplished display of black/death intensity and density, sharpened to a such a degree that their sensory overload became all the more expansive.
And while 2023’s Typho-Tantric Aphorisms From the Arachneophidian Qur’an has been widely hailed as a modern classic of martial death metal on par with such works as Krisiun’s Conquerors of Armageddon and Angelcorpse’s Exterminate, Tetragrammacide return to rougher, rawer vistas with their brand-new EP Cyber-Tantric Paradigm of Radical Sri-Vidya. However, “brand-new” might be a bit misleading, for the three exclusive songs here were recorded in 2017 and 2018 “as part of a new paramilitant theosophic movement within the cloaked order of Kalikshetra Raktachakra, the hidden nexus of Kolkata Inner Order,” the band reveal. “Transmitted as the bona fide doctrine from the syntactical tongue of Cyber-Sekhinah, this coup was then rescheduled to be exercised at an opportune hour, which is NOW!” Indeed, this 20-minute record literally EXPLODES with immediacy, recalling their Primal Incinerators days – in fact, the lineup is the same as that album – but with a swirling, sulfurous delirium that suggests the miasmic psychedelia to come. Still, despite this comparatively more chaotic soundfield, lumber under no illusion this is mere “war metal” noise: Tetragrammacide are nothing if not calculated in their ouroborian musings, and this Cyber-Tantric Paradigm devours with cold & cruel precision. Past, present, and future are dead – hail Kalikshetra Metal of Death!
